Day 3

U13A’s vs De La Salle - statistics contained within match report

Having lost the toss, the tourists took to the field in ideal cricket conditions - the sun was out! A tight start from the openers, ensured that the opposition were restricted to few scoring opportunities. This included two crucial breakthroughs! However, following a couple of strong partnerships our opposition looked well set. After drinks, wickets began to tumble and RGS bowled De La Salle out in the end for 181. A steady start with the bat in the chase, keeping wickets in hand set the platform for a comfortable victory. The boys got over the line for the loss of 5 wickets, and their was just under an hour of play remaining in the day. Some lessons learnt and mistakes rectified from yesterday, which will hopefully ensure that performances improve against the Jersey Cricket Board XIs over the next two days.

U13B’s vs Victoria College - statistics contained within match report

Having won the toss and chosen to bat, it looked an interesting decision at 72/7 following some very poor and sloppy dismissals. However, some patience from Henry S & some lust blows at the end from Sam L helped the team to a respectable 163. VC got off to a fast start, but we’re reined in by the captain Aaditya S & I Knowles who picked up 5 wickets. For a long time, it appeared as though victory would be inevitable. This would not come to pass as VC put together some good partnerships at the end that got them over the line with 1 wicket remaining. The boys will need to bat with more responsibility, bowl with more discipline & field with more tenacity against stronger opposition in their last two games of tour.

Had a cracking evening at Jersey Bowl, highly competitive!
