Day 2

U13A’s vs Victoria College - statistics contained within match report

After winning the toss and choosing to the boys got off to a flyer up top with Ben B, Tommy B & Matt W all scoring freely and quickly. However, a steady flow of wickets at regular intervals prevented any partnerships in the middle order after the fast start. Harrison L did his best to Marshall the tail and got good support from Jack S, but 216 all out appeared to be light on a pitch that had some short boundaries and a fast outfield.

The boys did not start well with the ball, enabling VC to match our own flying start. Teddy M came on & made two breakthroughs, before Harrison L began a mammoth spell where he ended up taking six wickets at steady intervals. However, it would not be enough as VC got over the line with two wickets to spare.

U13B’s vs De La Salle - statistics contained within match report

The boys won the toss and got off to a steady start with the bat, however after a cluster of wickets fell, Gabriel B & Luc G put together an 80 run partnership that setup a good score of 208 from their 30 overs. There was some excellent running between the wickets on show and they both punished the bad ball well. With the ball, some persistent consistency from the bowlers constantly targeting the stumps forced the batsmen to pay and brought in a number of bowled, lbw and caught wickets. With a number of bowlers taking wickets & contributing, the fielding was also sharp led by Luc G behind the stumps. De La Salle were all out for 70 in the end, a great start to the tour!
